Rob can afford to enjoy his retirement because he spends less on health care thanks to Medicare Advantage<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After working in retail for 35 years, Rob is embracing retirement. He volunteers, travels, and plays cards with friends. He\u2019s learned new hobbies like baking bread and editing videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Rob lost the ability to enjoy his hobbies for a few months while recovering from a hospitalization in an assisted living facility. Now that he has healed and moved back home, he appreciates his independence even more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to maintain my independence. I want to take care of myself for as long as possible without becoming a burden,\u201d Rob said. \u201cThat\u2019s why I like Medicare Advantage: it\u2019s proactive. My doctor advised me that I would be healthier if I lost 30 pounds, and Medicare Advantage provided me with the resources to do that through a gym membership and a dietitian. It has changed my lifestyle for the better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rob loves meeting new people and came away from his assisted living experience with a new group of friends he plays cards with three times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen we get together, the first thing we talk about is health care. Unlike when we were kids, when we discussed baseball or basketball, now we share our health issues and concerns about costs,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t worry about those challenges because I know I can receive the care I need through my Medicare Advantage plan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
